Welcome to the wonderful world of the Children of Ribe! A series I wrote to help 9 to 12 years engage not only with reading but with history and make it actually fun for them to learn about.
With reluctant readers and dyslexic readers in mind, I formatted the books specifically to make them easier to read without dumbing them down. One thing that always annoyed me as a young reader was when books were overly simplified and it felt like the author was talking down to me as a reader, and it’s something that I’ve noticed in books that are written for dyslexic readers especially tend to still do. But these books are not just for those who struggle with reading – they are for all middle grade readers who have a love of adventure.
